Thank you for your interest in becoming Vvolunteer with Back on My Feet! Our organization isn’t possible without amazing people like yourself and we’re excited to get you involved. Everyone interested in running with a Back on My Feet team is required to attend a 60-minute orientation during our 5:30am runs. Orientation is at the site/team you choose below. Our morning runs are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 5:30am-6:30am. There’s no obligation to volunteer after attending the run, and we think you will enjoy learning more about us!
At orientation, we will talk about the issue of homelessness, our mission, discuss the role of our volunteers and answer all of your questions. We ask that you commit to running on a consistent basis that works for your schedule (Mondays, every other Monday, all three days, etc.). This consistency means a great deal to the Members (those experiencing homelessness) in our program. We understand that life changes and you may need to adjust your schedule. We’re flexible too! Please sign up for an orientation run below.
Each team has a "CORE" and these folks take on additional responsibilities to make sure the team is fully functional and organized. These roles include: Team Leader, Social Coordinator, Coach, Organizer and Volunteer Coordinator. The Team Leader is the main point of contact for the team, the Social Coordinator plans the social events, the Coach chooses the routes and helps with running-related questions, the Volunteer Coordinator welcomes new teammates, and the Organizer tracks the mileage and attendance of Members.
